It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to the Friday forum "Crime to Community", an online event series that deals with current and relevant issues in offender assistance. It is a special honor for me to be part of this series and to give a keynote speech on April 12, 2024 from 12 to 1 p.m.

The digital Friday forum "Crime to Community" aims to provide low-threshold impulses on the topic of offender assistance for those interested in practice and science and to promote exchange and reflection on key topics. This spring, the forum will focus on examples of restorative justice, radicalization and a study on social work in juvenile detention.

In my session "Restorative Justice in the penal system - victim-oriented work in the Bielefeld-Brackwende prison" I will discuss the importance of restorative dialogues as part of restorative justice and the possibilities of implementing them in the penal system. My goal is to create an exchange that not only illuminates theoretical concepts, but also presents practical applications and discusses how these approaches can directly influence the lives of those affected.

This keynote speech reflects my heart's desire, as it represents the core of my work and my vision for a future restorative component in prison and also focuses on society's assumption of responsibility.

I am delighted to welcome you on this occasion to explore new perspectives together and discuss how we can further integrate the principles of restorative justice into practice.

I look forward to a fruitful and inspiring exchange.
