Resocialization after prison - does it work?

I was able to contribute to this exciting podcast and talk about the restorative dialogue "TOK", which was carried out on the basis of my concept "Affected Person-Oriented Work in the Prison System (BoAS)". From June 2024, preliminary discussions will begin in the Bielefeld-Brackwede Prison for the next round of a restorative dialogue with victims of crimes and prisoners.

Many people who have been in prison commit crimes again after their release. According to a study, a quarter of them are sentenced to prison again within just three years. Why is that?

Punishment without prison? What then?

Let's assume there were no more prisons: How would offenders be punished? Would the chances of rehabilitation be greater or smaller? And what does that mean for the victims? A thought experiment

Abolish prisons - How do we punish criminals? 13 questions

Most people agree: If someone has committed a serious crime, they belong in prison. But is rehabilitation in prison even possible? Or should we abolish prisons and invent new punishments? What sounds completely absurd now can suddenly be conceivable after this episode of 13 QUESTIONS. “School of crime” says one side, “place of rehabilitation” says the other. Among others, ex-prisoner Maximilian Pollux and victim of a serious violent crime, former boxing world champion Rola El-Habibi, discuss the sense and nonsense of today's justice system!

I was a guest on this show and was able to make many interesting contacts there.
